Gifts for 4 Year Olds

Browse through these kid and parent approved picks of gifts for four year olds.

I’ve keep this list pretty much gender neutral but I’ve also made a list with more girly girl gifts for 4 year olds and a list with more boyish boy gifts for 4 year olds if you’re looking for something with a dash of pink or a dash of blue. Personally I think all toys are great for everyone and kids should play with those that they like the most regardless of toy “type”.

Let’s Have Some Fun with Toys 4 Year Old Should Have

Lego’s
It doesn’t matter if you have a boy or a girl in your home building blocks are a must! I personally am fan of Lego’s (there are other brands that are great too) and there’s a set out there for pretty much everyone. I recommend starting them off with a plain box of building boxs without a theme – as themed sets do require a bit more skills to build.

PlasmaCar
They will be having fun with this car for years to come! It has no pedals and no breaks (I know sounds a bit scary bit it really isn’t) all it has is the steering wheel that’s also used to move the car forward and backward – lots of fun (for kids and adults to be honest).

Marble Run
You can’t go wrong with this. There are many different versions of Marble Run varying in colors and sizes so you can easily get just the one for your kids. Building the construction is fun by itself (parent help needed) but the real fun comes when you place the marbles on top of construction and watch them go downhill over and over again.

Science Kit
What better time than now to get them interested in the wonderful world of science? There aren’t many science kits for 3 year olds out there but there are a few adorable ones and Primary Science’s Lab Set is one of them. A great kit to introduce science to your preschooler as it includes all kinds of cool things – goggles, beaker, magnifying glass, funnel, eyedropper, flask, tweezers…

Let’s Play Ball
This fun “Triple Hit Baseball” set will help them from the beginning to “pro”. It has 3 ways to set it up – from ball on the top to this little toy shooting out balls for your kids to hit. A great way to keep them active and maybe even make a future baseball star out of them.

Spooner Board
This board is great for practice the balance – getting your kids ready for skateboards, boards or surfing in the future or just having fun and practising balance! It comes in many fun colors!

Quercetti Building Toy
Another favourite! This building toy lets your kids create fun creations in 2D or even 3D. They will be able to build cute animals, houses, vehicles, plants… Pretty much everything their little minds can come up with!

A Book Set
Let’s read! Well listen to stories read by mom and dad that is! A book is always a great gift and the sooner you start giving them the kids the better the chances you are growing a reader! Dr. Seuss’s books are a must read for everyone and this beginner book collection set is perfect to start your kid of with all the wonders his books have to offer.

Hoot Owl Hoot!
This is one fun cooperative board game that your kids will want to play over and over again (don’t worry it really is fun). Players have to work together to bring all the owls back to the nest before the sun goes up! It’s a simple game that teaches kids cooperation, strategy and develop other social skills.

Cash Register
What better way to learn about numbers and money than with a play cash register! Kids can have their own shop (or any other business that requires a cash register) and have hours of fun while playing with it. What a great gift for any 4 year old kid!
