Time to Party With the Pirates!
As a kid I loved to watch pirate movies and when I saw Cutthroat Island, a movie that starred a female pirate, I loved them even more.
I never had a pirate party when I was a kid. At the time this theme was considered to be in the boys domain but I did attend a few (this was the most popular boy theme at the time) and boy did I have a blast with all the arr talk and all the eye patches.
Today boys still love pirate themed parties and I’m also thrilled to see more and more girls choosing this theme!
There’s just so many fun things you can do with this theme, for example I was at a party where they had black water balloons (cannonballs!) and kids were shooting them at cardboard pirate ships until they sank them (knocked them down) – they were loving it!
Oh and all the amazing pirate ship cakes I’ve seen over the ages, they were just wow.
As this is currently still more popular with the boys I’ve made the boy version but will be adding the arr girl version soon (you can combine these with my Mermaid Party Supplies if you’re having a double birthday).
I’ve started out with hooks and peg legs but in the end decided for a friendlier version with just the eye patch.
So we’ve got party circles you can use as cupcake toppers or any other way you want.
The invitations templates are blank and you can either insert your text on the computer or just write it down by hand when you print it out.
I’ve made two kinds of banners – a bit larger ones with the pirate standing there and smaller ones that spell Happy Birthday (and some other signs to make it even more fun).

Pirates aren’t’ reserved just for boys, girls too make pretty awesome pirates and as that is the case I also made a girly version of the invite, banners and party circles in the same scheme as boys kit so you can mix and match it!
