Browse through these kid and parent approved picks of gifts for three year olds. Lots of fun toys and learning gifts to choose from, both for boys and girls!
I’ve also got a list of board games for 3 year olds you might want to check as they are pretty skilled at this age and do like to play some games (true they tend to make up their own rules here and there).
Let’s Have Some Fun with Toys 3 Year Old Should Have
If you are getting a gift for a third birthday Lego Duplo is the way to go – if they are closer to turning four I’d go with regular Lego’s. Either way building blocks are a great gift that lets them have hours of open ended and creative play and does wonders on their fine motor skills. Building blocks are a must for every kid!
They will be having fun with this car for years to come! It has no pedals and no breaks (I know sounds a bit scary bit it really isn’t) all it has is the steering wheel.
Even as a grown up I have a hard time putting this down, it’s so fun to play with! Kinetic sand is basically sand with some polymers (so it’s gluten free!) that can easily be shaped into all kinds of sculptures and it doesn’t stick to hands (how awesome is this part ha?). It’s all the rage with 3 year olds!
You stomp on the pump and the rocket flies! I mean which kid doesn’t like to stomp? This is one of the kids favourites (they have versions for older kids too and they too are super popular) and they will be sending the foam rockets up to the sky over and over again.
A fun little thing that will entertain kids for years to come.
I first saw these in the child care centre and I immediately fell in love. They are a bit more expensive but kids (and parents) really, really love them and love building all kinds of constructions with them.
Not to mention they look amazing on the light table if you have it.
This play table will give them a wonderful world to play at! Both boys and girls will love putting together the tracks and riding the train on them as well as enjoy everything else this pretend “city” has to offer.
Let’s read! Well listen to stories read by mom and dad that is! A book is always a great gift and the sooner you start giving them the kids the better the chances you are growing a reader! Dr. Seuss’s books are a must read for everyone and this beginner book collection set is perfect to start your kid of with all the wonders his books have to offer.
At 3 kids can already count (not all but most do) and this fun board game will only help them make this skill stronger.
Dramatic play is super important at this age (and for years to come) so a dress up set is a great gift for a 3 year old! You can get one like this that’s great for both genders or you can go with the more “girly or boyish” choices such as princess or superheroes (or just get them all).
